<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer capable of displaying display data for the computer and image data for a television receiver without interrupting user's operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the computer of the invention, when the image data 70 for the television receiver is generated and the display data 60 for the computer is generated, a composite image display data 80 using the image data 70 as a background area 61 of the display data 60 is generated and the composite image display data 80 is displayed on a display device. The composite image display data 80 is the display data when the image data 70 is overlapped with the background area 61. An area other than the background area 61 of the display data 60 is a working area for a user to operate. That is, the user does not work on the background area 61.
