<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of restraining the consumption of color material and the deterioration of the apparatus and achieving shortening of time for position adjustment, when performing position adjustment among a plurality of component color image forming parts. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with an intermediate transfer body 13; the component color image forming parts provided by plural components of colors and forming the images of the respective component colors, based on data of the image that is a forming object on the intermediate transfer body 13; and a position adjustment designating means for making the image forming part 12 to form an image for position adjustment for adjusting the position of the image of each component color formed on the intermediate transfer body 13 by the component color image forming part. In the image forming apparatus, whether the position adjustment designating means selectively allows at least a part of the component color image forming parts to form the image for position adjustment or whether the position adjustment designating means does not allow the component color image forming parts to form the image for position adjustment is selected, based on the information of a standard color mode set, when the image is formed on a recording medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
