PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ight emitting substance unit which has a bar light emitting substance provided with an electroluminescence element and which makes it possible to replace a light emitting substance without damaging productivity of the bar light emitting substance. SOLUTION: At the outer periphery surface 20s and an insertion 20B of a supporting bar 20, an anode layer 21 covering the whole of them is formed. Thus, when an EL bar 13 is inserted to a socket 12, the insertion 20B of the supporting bar 20 is insert-held by a pair of insert-holding plates 19, and the area of the anode layer 21 corresponding to the insertion 20B connects with the head of an anode terminal 18 to connect the anode terminal 18 electrically with the anode layer 21. Moreover, on the inner periphery surface 14s of a socket case 14, a cathode terminal 15 is formed which has a cross section in the state of projecting and curved surface, and projects through the whole periphery direction. Thus, when the EL bar 13 is inserted to the socket 12, a cathode layer 24 slides on the surface of the cathode terminal 15 to connect the cathode layer 24 electrically with the cathode terminal 15.
