PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution for a contact lens which is absorbed satisfactorily, even on a contact lens surface having high water repellency and eliminates the foreign-body sensation during wearing by making the surface hydrophilic, thereby eliminating unpleasant sensation and imparts stable water wettability. SOLUTION: The solution contains a polystyrene derivative polymer, having a monosaccharide and/or oligosaccharides on side chains for the making the contact lens surface hydrophilic.
