PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic box which can be easily in an assembled state and in a folded state because a diffuser sheet serving as a surface light source capable of obtaining black and white soft light can be easily extended and contracted. SOLUTION: The photographic box 1A(1B) whose bottom portion is open has: a long-medium shaft 5; a plurality of parent ribs 6a to 6d which are freely opened and closed with respect to the medium shaft 5 like umbrella ribs; and a flexible diffuser sheet 8(18) which is stretched between these parent ribs and extended and contracted by the opening and closing of the parent ribs and has light-transmission and diffusion properties.
