PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for synthesizing an oxetane compound, without accompanying complex operations, and capable of producing the oxetane compound capable of producing a polymer excellent in heat resistance, mechanical characteristics, a low water absorptivity, flatness and close adhesion property, etc., in a high yield. SOLUTION: This oxetane compound expressed by general formula (3) is produced by using a sulfonic acid ester of a 3-alkyl-3-hydroxymethyloxetane, phenols and a cesium salt.
