PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for changing a direction of a web, preventing meandering or deviation of the web with simple structure of a turn bar, without using any spacial device for centering when the direction of the web is changed in a non-contact manner by using the turn bar. SOLUTION: The device 10 for changing a direction of a web comprises: a turn bar 12 of a hollow bar-like member having a surface with a plurality of gas blowout ports, around which the web W conveyed from the upstream is wound with a predetermined helical angle and which changes the conveying direction of the web in the non-contact manner and guides the web toward the downstream; a gas supply means supplying the gas to the turn bar; a turn bar adjusting means 14 changing a position of the turn bar to change the conveying position of the downstream of the web.
