PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a take-up device for winding a web material on a core 2 by chucking the core 2 by a pair of chucks 1 with a simple structure and low cost in which the core is supported on a core receiver 7 between the respective chucks before the core is chucked by the chuck and the core receiver is automatically retreated before the web material is wound on the core. SOLUTION: The core 2 is supported on the core receiver 7 between the respective chucks 1 before the core 2 is chucked. Further, when a mechanical interlocking mechanism 11 is provided between the chuck and the core receiver and the core is chucked, the mechanical interlocking mechanism is interlocked with the chuck and the core receiver is retreated from the core.
