PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for vehicle which compensates the air conditioner control by estimating the effects of the sunshine with high accuracy. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for vehicle is equipped with a temperature detecting means such as an IR sensor 70 which detects the surface temperature of a passenger, a sunshine detecting means such as a sunshine sensor 83 which detects the sunshine amount being cast into a cabin, and an air conditioner ECU 8 as a controlling means. In this case, to the air conditioner ECU 8, temperature information and sunshine amount information which have respectively been detected by the temperature detecting means and the sunshine detecting means are transmitted, and the air conditioner ECU 8 calculates an air conditioner compensating amount in the cabin, and performs the air conditioner control. The air conditioner ECU 8 compensates a reference temperature regarding the passengers, e.g., a compensation upper half body temperature of each passenger, which becomes a foundation in the calculation of the air conditioner compensating amount, in response to the sunshine amount which has been detected by the sunshine sensor 83.
