PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning implement which can switch the condition of a main unit equipped with a cleaning member, to be pliable or unpliable, and enables an efficient cleaning according to a cleaning style. SOLUTION: A cleaning implement 10 comprises a cleaning main unit 13 to which a cleaning member 11 can be attached so that it can be exchanged and a handle part 12 which is installed to an end of the cleaning main unit 13 and performs cleaning as it has the cleaning main unit 13 bent and the cleaning member 11 contacting the cleaned surface. The cleaning main unit 12 is provided with a core section 14 which is installed to the handle part 12 and a flexible overhanging section 15 which moves in the axial direction X of the core section 14 and projects out from the core section 14 so that it can come out and in. The condition is switched between the condition that the core section 14 and the flexible overhanging section 15 overlap and it suppresses bending and the other condition that the flexible overhanging section 15 is made to project and the flexible overhanging section 15 becomes easy to bend, then, cleaning can be performed with the attached cleaning member 11.
