PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sewing quality by preventing misalignment when a point for positioning a reference position of fabric and a pressing position of a presser mechanism for stretching darts are separated. SOLUTION: A sewing machine has a marking irradiation device 30 for irradiating a mark of sewing reference, the presser mechanism 50 for pressing the fabric when the dart is stretched, a fabric feed mechanism 40 for feeding the fabric, a stitch forming mechanism for forming stitches so as to intersect the dart D, a dart pressing command means 68 for inputting pressing command of the fabric, a driving command means 66 for inputting driving command of the fabric feed mechanism and the stitch forming mechanism, and an operation control means 60 for performing control so as to press and maintain the fabric by the dart pressing command and to form stitches by the driving command. The marking irradiation device can perform irradiation by selecting either end of the fabric. The presser mechanism for stretching darts can selectively press either end of the fabric.
