PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening a factor of environmental stress on a plant, by using a group of genes exhibiting inductivity to the environmental stress, especially biotic stress and/or abiotic stress, and analyzing an expression profile thereof; to provide a method for analyzing a signal transduction mechanism; and to provide a kit of every kind used for the same. SOLUTION: This method for screening the factor of the environmental stress includes: (i) measuring expression levels of a group of genes comprising 1180 kinds of genes in the plant exposed to the stress and described in tables 5 to 11 (not shown), their orthologs, or their paralogs; (ii) selecting a gene especially expressed by a load of the environmental stress; and (iii) finding an expression profile of the selected gene. The method for analyzing the signal transduction mechanism of the environmental stress on the plant uses the method for screening the factor. The kit is used for the methods.
