<p>A brake controller and a brake control method of an electric vehicle in which a lag in response to a brake force command from a driver's seat is small even under a situation of a low regenerative load. The brake controller comprises a brake unit for operating an electric brake force command depending on the brake command and generating a mechanical brake command, and a control circuit for operating an electric brake force based on an electric brake force command and a brake command from the brake unit and controlling a power converter. The control circuit comprises a control processing section for operating the electric brake force and controlling the power converter, a section for operating an imaginary brake force complementing the electric brake force when a brake is actuated based on the brake command and the output from a voltage sensor for detecting input voltage of the power converter, and an adder for adding the operation output from the control processing section and the operation output from the imaginary brake force operating section, wherein the mechanical brake command from the brake unit is varied by the output from the adder.</p> |
