A display device and a control method therefor are provided to adjust sequence time difference which is time difference between an image signal enable/disable time of an image signal provided to a display unit and a power on/off time of a power signal supplied to the display unit to be within a certain range. A signal processing unit(20) outputs an image signal to a display unit(30). A power supply unit(70) outputs a power signal for turning on/off the power of the display unit(30). A control unit(50) controls at least one of the power supply unit(70) and the signal processing unit(20) so that the sequence time difference between the image signal enable/disable time of the image signal outputted from the signal processing unit(20) and a power on/off time of the power signal outputted from the power supply unit(70) is within a certain range.
