<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for digitizing a photographic print appropriately photographed by a portable photographic device. <P>SOLUTION: When a user designates photographing by operating an operating section 302, an image formed by an optical lens unit 101 is captured by an image sensor 102 under the control of a CPU 204 and stored in a memory 201. When a fading correction mode is set, a CPU 201 designates an image processor 203 to extract a photographic print image, i. e. the image of a photographic print in which the occurrence of fading is assumed from an image stored in a memory 201 and to make fading correction conducted on that photographic print image, as required.
