<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control continuation of conveyance of sheets, changing of a discharging destination, and acceptance of the sheets according to a state of its own apparatus or a downstream apparatus without taking notice of an apparatus configuration of the whole of an image forming system. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming system with the apparatus which receives a recording medium from an upstream apparatus disposed at the upstream side, carries out predetermined handling and conveys the recording medium passed through the handling to the downstream apparatus disposed at the downstream side, the apparatus is equipped with a detecting part which detects an abnormal state generated within the apparatus, a receiving part which receives information on acceptance possibility and impossibility for determining the acceptance possibility or impossibility of the recording medium transmitted from the downstream apparatus, a determination part which determines whether or not the acceptance of the recording medium is possible on the basis of the detection result of the abnormal state or the received acceptance possibility or impossibility information, and a notifying part which notifies the judgment result as the acceptance possibility or impossibility information to the upstream apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
