<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve for a variable displacement compressor which suppresses the occurrence of cutting shavings when assembling a spring energizing a valve element from the side opposite to a valve seat and reduces characteristic changes before and after the assembly. <P>SOLUTION: In the control valve for a variable displacement variable compressor, a winding finishing portion in a rear end which is a large diameter part side of a tapered spring 11 is bent inside. When assembling the spring 11 into the end opening of a body 4, the rear end prevents or suppresses cutting of a locking part 12 and the inner wall of the body 4 so as to suppress the occurrence of cutting shavings. Since the spring 11 is screwed in the locking part 12 when being assembled in an end opening of the body 4, the rear end of the spring 11 can be prevented from being deformed.
