<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for maintaining a head for discharging a functional liquid droplet, in each of which a functional liquid stuck to the peripheral part of a nozzle can be removed excellently and to provide a liquid droplet discharging apparatus having the apparatus for maintaining the head for discharging the functional liquid droplet, a method for manufacturing an electro-optical device, the electro-optical device and electronic equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for maintaining the head for discharging the functional liquid droplet is provided with: a vibrating means 18 for vibrating the head 17 for discharging the functional liquid droplet, to the surface 53 of whose nozzle the functional liquid is stuck, to gather the functional liquid at one edge of the surface 53 of the nozzle; and a cleaning means 62 for removing the functional liquid gathered at one edge of the surface 53 of the nozzle from the surface 53 of the nozzle. It is preferable that the cleaning means 62 comprises an absorbing material 81 for absorbing the functional liquid and an abutting means for abutting the absorbing material 81 on one edge of the surface 53 of the nozzle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
