PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate array device capable of sharply shortening time for switching context data while holding the number of storage elements in a gate array at a minimum value required. SOLUTION: Both of a first storage element group for storing executing logic/state data and a second storage element group corresponding to the first storage element group are formed in each macro cell. Respective storage elements in the second storage element group are connected in series, the logic/state data of the other circuit are previously loaded to the second storage element group, and in the case of exchanging the logic/state data stored in the first storage element group and the logic/state data of the other circuit which are stored in the second storage element group, two corresponding storage elements are connected between the second storage element group and the first storage element group, respectively. When an exchange execution signal is inputted later, the second storage element group stores the logic/state data stored in the first storage element group and the first storage element group stores the logic/state data of the other circuit which are stored in the second storage element group.
