PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber material having small rolling resistance and excellent wet skid resistance when used as a rubber material of a automobile tire. SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a modified diene-based rubber which has a Mooney viscosity being increased by at least one compared with that before modification is characterized in that a diene based rubber is modified by a silica compound having an amino group and an alkoxy group in the presence of a catalyst chosen from the group consisting of aluminum halides and alkyl halides, wherein 80% or more of repetition diene units in the diene-based rubber have cis-1,4 structure, Mooney viscosity (ML<SB>1+4</SB>, 100°C) of the rubber is in a range of 20-80, and the weight average molecular weight of the rubber, as measured by the gel permeation chromatography, is in a range of 200,000-1,000,000.
