PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a medium to be conveyed with excellent accuracy by suppressing the deformation in the direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the medium. SOLUTION: Pressing means 30a, 30b are provided, which press a medium from both sides thereof by applying the force opposing in the direction orthogonal to the medium conveying direction when conveying the medium. The conveying accuracy of the medium can be maintained with high accuracy since the deformation in the direction orthogonal to medium conveying direction is suppressed by the pressure.
