PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel art for preventing a robot arm from fouling with a paint mist drifting in the air without heading for an object to be painted with regard to an electrostatic coating apparatus having a painting gun and the robot arm for supporting the painting gun. SOLUTION: The electrostatic coating apparatus 1 comprises a painting gun 2 which sprays a paint to the object to be painted 9, and the robot arm 3 which moves the painting gun 2 for the object 9. The electrostatic coating apparatus 1 is configured so that the painting gun 2 applies voltage to the mist (the paint mist) and that a voltage having the same polarity as that applied to the paint mist is applied to the surface of the robot arm 3 (a first arm 3a).
