PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical treatment instrument, which can prevent excessive torque transmission to its end part and easily and accurately resect an obstructed site in a lesion when inserted into the obstructed site in the lesion while rotated. SOLUTION: An over torque mechanism is connected to a hollow medical treatment instrument 100 having a coil spring 50 and a cylindrical end tip 60 fixed to the end of the coil spring. The over torque mechanism has a first gear which rotates together with the medical treatment instrument, a second gear which engages with the first gear, a spring which compresses the second gear toward the first gear, a gripper for rotating the second gear. When a torque which affects connection between the first and second gears exceeds a certain value, the second gear is idled relative to the first gear. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
