PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate wasteful waiting time for starting; and to improve a sense of driving at the time of automatic starting. SOLUTION: A traveling-controlling device starts its own vehicle, when its own vehicle stops behind the preceding vehicle according to preceding vehicle follow-up control, if a start-permission operation member for permitting its own vehicle to automatically start by means of the preceding vehicle follow-up control is operated, the start of the preceding vehicle is detected, and the change of a brake pedal from a stepping state to a releasing state is detected.
