PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert securing the rigidity of a cutting edge part, while preventing deviation accompanied by cutting resistance, and an insert attaching/detaching type cutting tool. SOLUTION: In this cutting insert 1, a cutting edge part 4 provided with a circular-arc shaped cutting edge 2 is provided on each of the tip 1a side and the rear end 1b side of the axis 01 direction of a substantially cylindrical insert body 1, and the lower face 8b side of at least the cutting edge part 4 is formed into a tapered shape gradually reduced in diameter downward on the side face of the cutting edge part 4. A receiving part 8 connected to the side face of the cutting edge part 4 and having one face 8a orthogonal to the axis 01 is formed on the lower face 8b side of the cutting edge part 4. The one face 8a of the receiving part 8 is arranged at the axis 01 direction outside a virtual extension face 10 that the side face is extended to the lower face 8b side of the cutting edge part 4 at a taper angleθ1 of a part connected to the receiving part 8.
