A catchment piece (2) or pieces are positioned exactly on the item (4) to be fixed on to machine table. One or more catchment pieces are driven into the clamping station located on the machine table. The clamping device consists of a tenter hook (1) hinged radially to the axis of the catchment pieces. The hook has a slit through which the clamping stone of the cathcment pieces can be pushed. Its interior has a narrowing spinal or eccentric shape. The hook is fed into a seating hole (3) or contour on both sides of the slit over its whole diameter. It has limit stops to define the drive positions. It can have a mechanical, electric, pneumatic or hydraulic pivot drive. It is sealed against dirt and moisture.
