GAS TREATMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM AND CARBON DIOXIDE RECOVERY METHOD AND SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas treatment method capable of efficiently removing a harmful gas component from a gas containing nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide or both of the oxides and efficiently recovering carbon dioxide, and a gas treatment system.

SOLUTION: Nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide is liquefied or solidified to remove it from the gas by cooling the gas containing the harmful gas component to a temperature not solidifying carbon dioxide but liquefying or solidifying nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide. Carbon dioxide contained in the gas is solidified by cooling the gas from which nitrogen oxide or sulfur oxide is removed to a temperature for solidifying carbon dioxide and is deposited on an inner surface of a vessel fed with the gas. The vessel is air-tightly closed and the inside of the vessel is pressurized to a pressure or higher than a pressure at which the carbon dioxide can be liquefied. The liquid carbon dioxide is introduced to the vessel to dissolve the solidified carbon dioxide existing in the vessel in the liquid carbon dioxide. The dissolved carbon dioxide is discharged to the outside of the vessel.
