<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high level time shift device and system. <P>SOLUTION: Stream data are transmitted from a broadcasting station 1, and received by a network server 10. The stream data are transmitted from the server 10 to a portable terminal 20. The stream data are successively written in the hard disk of the server 10. When a time shift request is transmitted from the portable telephone 20 to the server 10, the stream data written in the server 10 are read, and transmitted to the portable telephone 20. Time shift reproduction is achieved.
