<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling embedded air conditioner capable of disposing a heat exchanger easily inside a heat insulating material, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The ceiling embedded air conditioner has an outer housing 11 made of a metal plate for housing a fan and the heat exchanger 5. The outer housing 11 is divided into/consists of an outer housing body 11A bent nearly in the U shape and a pair of end boards 11B attached to both ends of the outer housing body 11A.
