PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology whereby an operator can reserve a required recording area at less expense in time and effort so as to smoothly continue recording of image data by selecting the image data being a processing object of erasure, resizing, and compression on the basis of date and time history information comprising the updated number of print times, the number of copy times, and the history information of shift times of the image data independently of whether or not the image data are new or old. SOLUTION: In an image data processing system disclosed herein, a digital camera (camera) is connected to a personal computer (PC) to inform the PC about the serial number of the camera and a print date and time of image data and the PC records the information. A printer is connected to the PC whose connection to the camera is released and the PC records the print date and time information of printed image data. When the camera and the PC are again connected (S150), a serial number of the camera is checked with a file number of the image data (S153), and when there are prints connected to the PC after the preceding connection, the print date and time of the image data of the camera whose serial number is coincident with that recorded in the PC is updated (S156). If the residual capacity of a recording medium of the camera is deficient, data whose number of print times is most are selected and erased. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
