PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not original picture data are deleted after the whole aspect of a picture is confirmed. SOLUTION: In the original picture data recorded on a recording medium 10, a resolution conversion processing is conducted so as to conform to the display region of an LCD 8 in a resolution converter/interpolator 23 for a camera DSP2, and reproduced picture data are generated. A part of the reproduced picture data is cut out, interpolated and processed in the resolution converter/interpolator 23, and an enlarged picture data enlarged at a set enlargement ratio is generated. When a deleting button 66 is depressed when the enlarged picture data are displayed on the LCD 8, the reproduced picture data at a magnification are displayed automatically on the LCD 8. Whether or not the original picture data are deleted can be determined after the whole aspect of the picture is confirmed because the reproduced picture data are displayed.
