PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve necessary data easily by using retrieval entries specific to a user. SOLUTION: The information retrieval apparatus 10 is provided with: a song information database 15 for storing data while associated with generation information on the data; a date of birth conversion database 14 for storing a data table which associates the generation information with personal history information; an input part 16 for receiving an input of the personal history information; a designation means for designating the generation information corresponding to the inputted personal history information; and a retrieval means for retrieving data corresponding to the designated generation information from the song information database 15 from the song information database 15 on the basis of the generation information stored in the song information database 15.
