PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record information at high recording density, while averting the problem of crosstalks in elemental holograms and between elemental holograms. SOLUTION: A two-dimensional image, formed of two or more kinds of pixels of the wavelengths of reference light for recording used upon recording being different, is recorded in each elemental hologram recorded in a hologram recording medium. For example, a two-dimensional image is turned into an elemental hologram by three kinds of pixels, respectively recorded by reference light for recording, R, G, B. Reproduced image light can be obtained, by irradiating respective kind of pixels with the reference light for reproduction with the same wavelengths, the hologram reproducing device is used in such a manner that the reference light for reproduction of the wavelengths of R, G, B is changed, or the reproduced image light is separated by wavelength. In this way, the reproduced image light of the respective kinds of pixels is read out, in a state where crosstalks are hardly generated, and the imaging signals of the respective reproduced image light are combined, and a a two-dimensional image recorded elemental hologram is obtained.
