PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle capable of reducing a change in optical power which is transmitted from an optical fiber of built-in ferrule to an optical fiber of plug ferrule when strong moment acts on the plug ferrule inserted to the optical receptacle having the short-size built-in ferrule. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle has such a structure that a clamping ring is force-fitted into the outer circumference of a second elastic tube, thereby, the short-size built-in ferrule, a first elastic sleeve and the second elastic sleeve are coaxially and collectively fixed and a part of the first elastic sleeve susceptible to local expansion deformation is reinforced by the second elastic sleeve adhered tightly to the outer circumference of the first elastic sleeve.
