A drain box of a side ditch in a road is provided to prevent counter flow or overflow by regulating the opening degree of an opening part of a steel grating according to rainfall, to restrict foreign matters from infiltrating into the drain box by draining a small amount of water through holes, and to turn an opening plate easily and stably by using a knob. A side ditch includes a drain box(10) having a sewer connecting pipe(12), a cylindrical body(11) with an upper opening part and a fitting sill(13), a round steel angle(14) placed on the fitting sill of the drain box, an opening plate(20) placed on the round steel angle and provided with a central projection(25), sectorial opening parts(23) and opening plate parts(21) repeatedly formed around the central projection, plural holes(22) in the opening plate part and a knob(24), and a steel grating(30) contracted to the round steel angle and provided with a central hole(35) in the middle of a disk(34) combined with the central projection, block parts(31) and drain holes(32) repeatedly formed around the central hole, a partition(33) dividing the drain hole and an opening plate fitting part formed in a lower part of an edge plate. A small amount of water is drained by completely shutting the drain hole with the opening plate part, and inflow of foreign matters is restricted. |
