<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately discriminate a discrimination target by separating and detecting a level of phosphorescence from the discrimination target. <P>SOLUTION: This discrimination device 1 has: LEDs 7 irradiating exciting light of a specific wavelength onto a bill A; an imaging element 8 detecting light emission including the phosphorescence emitted from the bill A according to the exciting light, converting charges according to intensity of the phosphorescence into an image signal, and outputting it; a control circuit 11 controlling the irradiation of the exciting light by the LEDs 7, discharge of the charges by the imaging element 8, and the output of the image signal by the imaging element 8; and a color liquid crystal monitor 5 outputting an output image signal showing a detection state of the bill A obtained on the basis of the image signal. The control circuit 11 performs the control such that the charges are discharged after emitting the exciting light for a prescribed period and that the image signal corresponding to the charges stored in a phosphorescence detection period after the prescribed period is outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
