PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase authentication security by attaching additional information to biometric information. SOLUTION: A personal authentication method based on biometric authentication for performing personal authentication using biometric information adds information for notifying a system of a conceivable defect to the biometric information, and in the personal authentication based on biometric authentication using the biometric information, decodes the information added to the biometric information and, if the additional information means a defect, deals with the defect.
