PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately process signal of whole range of physical quantities. SOLUTION: The detection output of a gas sensor 10 detecting, when a sinusoidal voltage Vin with a specific period is impressed from a drive power source 20, is inversely amplified as a sinusoidal inverse amplified signal Va with an inverse amplifying circuit 30. Total wave rectifying voltage, that is, inverse addition voltage Vc is generated with this sinusoidal inverse amplifying signal Va, a half wave rectifying circuit 40 and a middle step side inverse addition circuit 50. The waveform component exceeding a reference voltage (+Vcut) in the inverse addition voltage Vc is extracted with a clip waveform shaping circuit 60 and produces a clip waveform producing voltage Vd with a reference of 0 level. The waveform component corresponding to the clip waveform producing voltage Vd among the inverse addition voltage Vc is removed. The remaining waveform component of the inverse addition voltage Vc is generated as an inverse addition voltage Ve with a back step side inverse addition circuit 80.
