摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an obstacle detecting device for a vehicle to determine the possibility of own vehicle making contact with an obstacle by predicting the moving directions and the moving distances of the own vehicle and the obstacle. SOLUTION: Obstacle is detected from images photographed by a first camera 201 and a second camera 202. The prediction vectors to exhibit the moving directions and the moving distances from now of the obstacle and the vehicle concerned are calculated by an obstacle position calculating part 110 and a vehicle position calculating part 120 on the basis of the past data of the moving directions and moving distances, and are displayed in superposition on the photographed image of the first camera 201. A determining part 130 determines the possibility of contacting of the vehicle with the obstacle on the basis of the prediction vectors, and an alarm is issued eventually on the basis of the result from determination.
