PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a riding type small planing boat provided with a seat on a rear part of an engine room capable of easily arranging a battery and easily performing charging electricity to the battery and maintenance work. SOLUTION: This small planing boat is furnished with a body 1 having a hull 2 and a deck 3, a water jet pump P to jet water sucked from a water sucking port 17 provided on a bottom surface of this hull 2 backward, an engine room 8 to store an engine provided on a front part of the body 1, a seat 7 provided on the deck 3 in the rear of this engine room 8 and a handle 23 for steering provided in front of this seat 7, and a battery storage part 21 is arranged in the body 1 positioned on the lower side of the seat 7 and on the upper side of the water jet pump P.
