PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain core member suitable for forming pleats or creases and bringing about no slippage of mesh, and to provide a curtain using the curtain member. SOLUTION: This curtain core material is provided by heat-treating a woven fabric T comprising wefts 3 and warps 4 and having an appropriate width H. The weft comprises a core-sheath type conjugate yarn 7A having a molten layer 9A on the periphery of a core weft 8A and a monofilament yarn 6 woven with the conjugate yarn. Flat yarns 5 and warp core-sheath type conjugate yarns 7B are woven alternately to the wefts as the warps. The molten layers 9A and 9B of the conjugate yarns 7A and 7B fixes the core weft 8A and the monofilament yarns 6 by melting by heating and fixes core warps 8B and the flat yarns 5. The curtain is provided with a core fabric part obtained by sewing the curtain core material at least to the upper end part of the curtain fabric, and the core fabric part is folded up and piled in the direction of the width of the curtain for forming the pleats or creases.
