A housing for a domestic appliance comprises a body (1), a door (2) and a hinge which is arranged adjacent to a side face (4) of the body (1) and connects the body (1) and the door (2). The door (2) has a first cutout (26) which faces the body (1). The hinge comprises an arm (10) which is firmly connected to the body (1) and engages in the cutout (26) and to which a shaft of the hinge is fixed. A recess (27), which faces the side face (4) and into which a side wall (28) of the first cutout (26) engages when the door (2) is in the open position, is formed on the arm (10).
