BASEBOARD FOR CELL CULTURE

It is intended to provide a baseboard for cell culture having an electrically conductive membrane in which the membrane would not peel off during the culture. A baseboard for cell culture which has an average surface roughness of 10 nm or more but not more than 30 nm and is provided with a roughly rod-shaped construction on the baseboard thereof. An electrically conductive membrane is formed on the baseboard by the vapor deposition method, the sputtering method or the RF ion plating method. The material of the membrane is one selected from among indium oxide, zinc oxide and tin oxide. Owing to the rod-shaped construction existing on the surface of the baseboard, cells can be entrapped in the rod-shaped construction and thus stably adhered and fixed. The even surface roughness makes the baseboard suitable for optical observation.
