<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured and less expensive plasmon resonant photoelectric conversion element that operates stably, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: In the plasmon resonant photoelectric conversion element, a positive electrode charge collector 12 is formed on a substrate 10, and a charge generating layer 14 is formed thereon that comprises a metal such as gold, silver, platinum, copper or palladium that produces a plasmon resonance when irradiated with light. The charge generating layer 14 has a projected part for facilitating the plasmon resonance. Moreover, a semiconductor layer 16 for extracting the charge generated on the charge generating layer 14 is formed on the charge generating layer 14. An n-type semiconductor, for example, such as a titanium oxide can be used for the semiconductor layer 16. A transparent electrode 18 such as an ITO is formed on the semiconductor layer 16, with a support substrate 20 such as a glass or a plastic being formed on the transparent electrode 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
