PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component holder that is capable of holding and fixing components during processing or transportation with sufficient holding power, of removing them in an easy manner without damaging them after completion, and that is particularly suited for handling thin plate-shaped electronic components. SOLUTION: The component holder 1 comprises a fixed part 4 having a nonadhesive surface or a weak adhesive surface on the top surface thereof, and a movable part 6 that is disposed within the plane surface of the fixed part 4 and has a strong adhesive surface 5 on the top surface thereof that has greater adhesion than the top surface of the fixed part 4. The component holder 1 has a changing means for changing the vertical position of the top surface of the movable part 6 to the same level as or little higher than the top surface of the fixed part 4 during an initial setting before component mounting, and to the level lower than the top surface of the fixed part 4 during component removal.
