PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select image data as candidates for an output target, according to user preference from among a plurality of image data. SOLUTION: A printer 100 displays learning image data, having various amounts of features on a liquid-crystal display 150 and receives a selected image matched with the user preference among the image data, and learns the user preference at the basis of the amount of features of the image data selected by the user, and stores an allowed range and evaluation expression indicating the user preference as preference data PD. After having learned the preference data PD, the printer 100 analyzes the image data entered from a memory card MC, and selects an image that matches with the preference data PD as a candidate of a printing target.
