<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit and a mask generation method, enabling mask generation with simple processing; and also to provide a program executed in the image processing unit or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel string corresponding to an object contour is extracted from an edge-extracted image, and a mask boundary line is obtained on the basis of the approximation line thereof. With this, the mask can be generated with simpler processing as compared with a method of binarizing the image while adjusting a threshold on the basis of each photographed image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
