PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rendering device and a rendering method for selectively executing rendering for graphic instances in an image driver software application.

SOLUTION: This rendering method comprises steps of: accepting image data including graphic instances from a software application; applying a default first image rendering option to the image data; selecting a first graphic instance from the image data; and generating an image job such as a print job incorporating the first and second image rendering options.
