PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of malfunction when an extended function operation is executed without necessary information, as a function compatible with a conventional application. SOLUTION: This recording/reproducing device is constituted so that both of conventional function and extended function are operable as the functional operation in relation to a reproduction of content data down-loaded from the information processor and recorded on a recording medium, and also the data recorded on the recording medium can be managed by both of a first application capable of forming the information for attaining the extended function and a second application incapable of forming the information for attaining the extended function, as the application to be installed on the information processor, and in this device, a control is performed so that the execution of the extended functional operation is disabled in accordance with whether the data to be recorded on the recording medium is updated or not, by the first application in the past.
