PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of recording high-quality images relative to various recording materials including non-flexible recording materials such as a compact disk or the like, and a recording method. SOLUTION: As a combination tray combining a manually feeding feed tray and a discharge tray, a front tray M7010 and a tray base M7100 are used to properly use these trays corresponding to the types of recording materials and, the position of spurs M3120 is changed with the types of combination trays used.
